Sleep in Heavenly Peace — Community Bed Builds
As a core team leader for Sleep in Heavenly Peace — PA Lock Haven, I help run the chapter's public bed builds: setting up the miter saws, drill presses, sanders, and the stain line, and keeping a floor full of community volunteers cutting, drilling, and assembling safely. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit that builds and delivers twin bunk beds to local kids who don't have a bed of their own — so no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

Accessibility Ramp Build
A pressure-treated accessibility ramp built over the existing front stairs for a homeowner who uses a walker. At the client’s request it was built to an easier, shorter grade rather than the longer ADA slope — comfortable and walker-friendly, with full handrails on both sides and a non-slip walking surface.

Ramp Painting & Non-Slip Safety Finish
A follow-up visit the next year, once the pressure-treated lumber had dried enough to take a finish. I primed and painted the ramp in a durable exterior coating to protect the wood, then upgraded the walking surface with an anti-slip sand additive worked into the finish for traction in rain, snow, and ice.

Custom Truss Roof-Over & Metal Roof
A full gabled roof-over built on top of a mobile home's failing original roof. I framed custom trusses on site — oversized at the homeowner's request for extra pitch and strength — sheathed the new deck and wrapped it in Tri-Flex underlayment, then installed ribbed metal roofing over it for a durable, watertight roof that sheds snow.

Carpet Install & Seam Work
A full carpet replacement in Lock Haven — tearing the room down to its original plank subfloor, laying fresh cushion, and installing plush gray carpet wall to wall. The room ran wider than a single roll, so two pieces were seamed together; the finished seam is invisible.

Engineered Hardwood Floor Install
A dark engineered hardwood floor installed in a Lock Haven bedroom — old flooring out, the subfloor cleaned, flattened, and dried, and wide planks laid wall to wall over fresh underlayment. Acclimated, gapped, racked, and staggered by the book for a floor that lies flat and wears for years.

Mobile-Home Bathroom Remodel
A full bathroom refresh in an older mobile home (trailer) in Loganton — out with the worn linoleum and in with a waterproof luxury vinyl plank floor, a brand-new vanity, and a new toilet. The LVP went down as a floating click-lock floor and was cut in around the toilet flange; the new toilet was reset on a fresh wax ring, and the new vanity carries a one-piece integrated-sink top with an oil-rubbed bronze faucet.

Pressure-Washing & Stoop Repaint
Exterior cleanup at a brick home in Loganton — pressure-washing a concrete entry stoop and an exposed-aggregate sidewalk that had grown over with algae and moss, then repainting the stoop and reseeding a bare patch of lawn. The hard surfaces got an initial wash, a professional concrete cleaner worked into the embedded growth, and a final rinse; once the stoop dried it was primed, sealed, and finished with two coats of paint, and a bare dirt strip alongside was hydroseeded to fill back in.

Drywall Finishing & Mudding
Drywall taping and finishing — "mudding" — across several central Pennsylvania homes. Seams and corners taped, butt joints and fastener dimples coated and feathered out over successive passes, then skim-coated and sanded flat so the walls and ceilings read smooth and seamless once primed and painted.

Site-Built Structural Box Beam
A structural "box beam" I built and set myself to carry the roof load across a wide opening. It's a deep, built-up beam — dimensional lumber framing sheathed in APA-rated structural plywood — fabricated on site to an engineered, code-approved design and set in place to carry the span.

Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump Install
Single-zone Mitsubishi MSZ-FS18NA "Designer Series" system — an 18,000 BTU Hyper-Heating (H2i) heat pump rated 21 SEER2 that keeps making heat down to -13°F. One quiet, efficient unit to heat and cool a large room year-round.
Water-Damage Restoration
Full restoration after a leaking second-floor washer sent water into the laundry area, the ceiling cavity, and the finished room below — from containment and mold remediation through finish carpentry and flooring. Documented as an insurance-ready, line-item scope with overhead and profit.
Metal Roof Leak & Ceiling Repair
Tracked down and sealed a leak at a metal roof's ridge line, replaced a failed vent-pipe boot, and corrected suspect fasteners — then restored the water-stained ceiling below, from insulation through patch, prime, and paint.
