Licensing & insurance
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I'm registered with the Pennsylvania Attorney General as a Home Improvement Contractor, HIC #PA2199962, and I carry insurance. For refrigerant work I hold EPA 608 Universal certification. You can verify the HIC number on the Attorney General's public lookup — and you should do that for anyone you're about to hand a deposit to, not just me.
What does EPA 608 Universal certification mean?
It's the federal certification for handling refrigerant, and Universal is the class that covers every equipment type — so I can legally open the sealed side of a mini-split, heat pump, or central A/C system. Without it, a repair that touches refrigerant isn't a repair anyone should be selling you.

How do quotes work?
I come look at the job, then you get a written quote within 48 hours. Written matters: it's a scope you can hold me to, not a number over the phone that grows later. If something changes once the work is open, you hear about it before it costs anything.
When is a deposit due?
Only when you tell me to go. Looking at the job and writing the quote costs you nothing, and no money changes hands while you're still deciding.
Do you guarantee your work?
My workmanship is covered for one year. If something I built or installed fails because of how I did it, I come back and make it right.
Scheduling & service area
What areas do you serve?
I'm based in Lock Haven and work in Mill Hall, Avis, Loganton, Beech Creek, Jersey Shore, and across Clinton County and the surrounding central-PA area. Close but not on that list? Ask — the answer is usually yes.
How soon can you start?
Depends on the calendar, and I won't pretend otherwise — one person does the quoting and the building here. The quote form has an urgent-repair option; use it if something is actively getting worse and I'll factor that in when I get back to you.
The work
Do you work on mobile and manufactured homes?
Yes. A lot of contractors around here won't quote them; I take those jobs, and my portfolio has the roof-over and bathroom work to show for it. The framing, floors, and mechanicals on a manufactured home behave differently than stick-built, and pricing one fairly starts with knowing that.
Do you handle permits?
Where a job needs a permit, I handle the paperwork as part of the job — drawings included when the municipality wants them. You shouldn't have to learn your borough's process to get a ramp or a deck built.
Can you work with my insurance company?
Yes. I write line-item estimates with overhead and profit, formatted the way carriers expect, and I accommodate carrier-requested revisions so the claim keeps moving. I can't tell you what your policy covers — that's between you and your carrier — but I can make sure the damage is documented properly.
Will you tell me if something isn’t worth fixing?
That's the whole diagnostic-first approach. Sometimes a furnace needs a $40 part, not a replacement — and sometimes the honest answer runs the other way, and patching would just move the failure a season down the road. Either way you get the real assessment before you commit to anything.
