Carpet Install & Seam Work

Lock Haven, PA · 2024

A full carpet replacement in Lock Haven — tearing the room down to its original plank subfloor, laying fresh cushion, and installing plush gray carpet wall to wall. The room ran wider than a single roll, so two pieces were seamed together; the finished seam is invisible.

How the job was done

  1. Tore out the old flooring down to the original wood plank subfloor and cleaned and prepped the surface.
  2. Set tackless strips around the perimeter and laid new carpet cushion, taping the pad seam down the center of the room.
  3. Rolled out the carpet and joined the two pieces with hot-melt seam tape and a seam iron, lining up the pile so the seam disappears.
  4. Stretched the carpet tight with a power stretcher and knee kicker, hooking it onto the tackless strips for a flat, wrinkle-free finish.
  5. Trimmed and tucked the edges along the walls and doorways for a clean, finished look.
